After crossing the Dnepr, 5th Guards Tank Corps received orders to conduct a raid out of the newly established bridgehead. Following hard on the heels of the retreating enemy, the 5th rapidly expanded the bridgehead. Pushing towards the town of Makarov, just north of the major supply route on the Kiev-Zhitomir highway, the 5th exploited their success.
Objectives: Your company will move south, pursue, and destroy all enemy stragglers, vehicles and strongpoints. Your platoon will follow the road south to the objective, while the other platoons move west and east, then south to overwatch positions. The remnants of the 70th Infantry Division are a demoralized rabble, but exercise caution in the confines of the villages you will pass through.
